Gays and lesbians are more active online than heterosexuals





















Among gays and lesbians more blog readers than among heterosexuals - 51 percent vs. 36, as gays and lesbians are more receptive to advertising on blogs, reports MarketingCharts.
The study showed that more than a quarter (26 percent) of gay and lesbian blogs entertainment, compared with 11 percent of heterosexuals.

Oddly enough, but the political blogs as actively visiting members of sexual minorities. Almost a quarter (23 percent) of gays and lesbians said they read political blogs. Moreover, among heterosexuals, this percentage more modest, with 14 percent.

Besides blogging, gays and lesbians are more active and other means of communication. On the question of how often they send instant messages to your friends or other people for reasons unrelated to work, 25 percent of gays and lesbians said that they send instant messages at least once a day. Among heterosexuals, this percentage is lower by 10 percent.

A similar trend is observed also in social networks and dating sites:

57 percent of gays and lesbians have confirmed their participation in social networks or the presence of his profile on dating sites, compared with 37 percent of people of traditional orientation.

This study was conducted online within the United States among 2,733 adults (aged 18), network users, of whom 2,302 indicated they are heterosexual and 326 identified themselves as gay or lesbian.
